​Peterson Cattle Company offers Simmental and Sim-Angus bulls and heifers that are bred to perform at the highest level in the most rugged conditions. Only cows that thrive in these environments while raising vigorous and robust calves will remain in our program. This rigorous selection ensures that our bulls will excel in any environment they are placed in, providing unmatched value and performance for your operation. Our bulls undergo stringent culling from birth. If a calf doesn’t stand out from the start and finish strong, it will no longer remain in our program. No leniency and no free lunches.

“We purchased all of Peterson Cattle Co’s steer calves in the spring of 2025 for an October delivery. Paul weaned these steers at the end of August, put them on wild meadow grass for 30 days prior to delivery. On that meadow grass alone they gained just over 3 lbs a day which was a hell of a start in itself. We then got them to a background lot in Winner, South Dakota where they were put on a 65 megacal ration, They gained 3.8 lbs a day - at 95 cents/lb for the first 90 days! we never had a single health issue with one of them. These Peterson Cattle Co calves were some of the best calves we’ve ever purchased for our 10,000 head background feedlot. A true testament to Paul’s breeding program and the Simmental breed as a whole. We will be coming back for more.”
